PDIP Respects The Constitutional Court's Decision On Elections, But Choose To Hold Back To Determine Your Attitude

JAKARTA - Member of the PDI-P (PDIP) faction Said Abdullah stated that his party chose not to rush in responding to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which separates the implementation of national elections and regional elections.

Said said that his party still wanted to explore a number of aspects before taking a political stance. He emphasized that the Constitutional Court's decision must still be respected because it is final and binding.

"First, we view that every Constitutional Court decision is final and binding. Then the second is, we want to discuss internally more deeply: has this final decision entered the realm of the Constitutional Court as a positive legislator or is it still a negative legislator?" Said said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

Said, who is also the chairman of the PDIP DPP, explained that the results of the internal discussions would be the basis for the faction's official stance on the Constitutional Court's decision.

"Well, those two studies that we will, in the end, will use to respond to the final Constitutional Court's decision," he said.

He also invited all political party factions in the DPR to be careful and not be reactive. According to him, an overly excited approach will only cause a commotion in the community.

"Are we going to follow or take different positions? Let's study more deeply, so that the public is not noisy between pros and cons, as if political parties reject the Constitutional Court's decision," said Said.

He emphasized that PDIP will prioritize a conducive atmosphere in addressing constitutional issues.

"We must not rush so as not to make noise, because there are too many affairs of this nation that we must solve one by one," concluded the chairman of the DPR RI Budget Agency.
