The Ministry Of Public Works Gets Additional Budget To IDR 73.76 Trillion, Minister Dody: Tomorrow Wednesday Report To The DPR

BEKASI - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) received an additional budget of IDR 73.76 trillion for 2025.

Previously, the state institution's budget was set at IDR 50.48 trillion.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the additional funds were used to improve infrastructure.

"That's for river repairs, that's why it's for road preservation. It doesn't include public schools," said Dody to reporters after visiting the People's School at the Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center, Bekasi, West Java, Monday, July 7.

Dody said the details of the use of the additional budget would be submitted to the Indonesian House of Representatives this week.

"If the typical is budget politics, right, that's it, we get approval from the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani), okay, add or open stars or anything else, it will increase, right. Well, it must get approval. It's Wednesday tomorrow (Raker with the DPR RI)," he said.

Meanwhile, for the construction of the People's School, said Dody, the budget is sourced from the Ministry of Public Works, but is separate from the additional funds.

In the first phase, the People's School renovation was carried out with a budget of around Rp. 1.2 trillion for 200 locations.

"Because it's just renovations and sedang, it's not a tough job," explained Dody.

The second stage includes the construction of 100 new locations with a budget range of around Rp. 200 billion.

"Phase II, which depends on the area of 100 locations, yes. If the area is around 5.5 (hectares) we may (disburse the budget) a total of around Rp200 billion, yes, all in, including furniture and so on," he said.

The People's School Program itself is designed to accommodate at least 20,000 students.

Development is carried out in stages from September 2025 to June 2026, with a full operational target in the new academic year of July 2026.
