7,676 Houses Flooded, Mataram NTB Set Disaster Emergency Response Status

NTB - The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province has set a disaster emergency response status for the next 14 days to facilitate efforts to deal with the post-disaster floods that hit Mataram City on Sunday, July 6.

"With the determination of the status of the disaster emergency response, it is possible for us to carry out the handling by mobilizing the existing potential according to existing policies and regulations," said Secretary of the Mataram City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Ahmad Muzaki, in Mataram, NTB, Monday, July 7, as reported by Antara.

For the next 14 days, he said, an evaluation will be carried out and if conditions increase, the status will be extended but if not, it will continue with the recovery stage.

He said, with the status of the disaster emergency response, now a 2025 Emergency Response Command Post has been formed centered in the Mataram Mayor's Hall.

The establishment of the post is in accordance with disaster regulations and only one will become the center, so that it can facilitate coordination and mobilize all related parties.

"Meanwhile, the posts in the kelurahan, police, and others are only temporary," he said.

At the 2025 Emergency Response Command Post, a public kitchen has also been opened from the Mataram Social Service team and supported by a field public kitchen belonging to the Mataram City BPBD.

The city of Mataram was hit by floods on Sunday, July 6, which was triggered by heavy and even rain intensity.

As a result, 7,676 houses were flooded with a height of up to one meter and 7,676 families (KK) or about 30,681 people were displaced and one person died from being electrocuted in Ampenan.

According to him, the six sub-districts affected by the flood include Sandubaya District covering 7 urban villages, namely Bertais Village, Selagalas, Babakan, Abian Body, Mandalika, Dasan Cermen, and Turida Village.

Then Mataram District includes Pagutan Village, East Pagutan, East Pagesangan, and East Mataram.

Meanwhile, for Sekarbela District, the affected areas are Kejalik Jaya, Karang Pule, Tanjung Karang, and Jempong Baru Villages.

For Selaparang District, the affected villages are Dasan Agung Baru and Gomong Villages, while in Cakranegara Districts affected by Karang Taliwang, Mayura, South Cakranegara Baru, and West Cakranegara Villages.

"Last night we opened about 30 refugee points, both in mosques, schools, houses of the closest residents, and other public facilities," he said.

However, today, he continued, on average they have returned to their respective homes to clean the house from the remaining floods in the form of mud and garbage.
