Holds Street Boxing 2025, Central Java Police: Press Brawls And Look For Young Boxing Athletes

CENTRAL JAVA - Enlivening the 79th Bhayangkara Day, the Central Java Regional Police held a Street Boxing Event in 2025 at the Wujil Sports Hall, Ungaran, Semarang Regency. This event is not just a competition, but an initiative to foster and find potential for boxing athletes from young people, especially students, as well as a means of prevention to reduce the number of brawls and acts of violence on the streets.

The event which took place on Sunday, July 6, 2025 was lively and was attended by the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General of Ribut Hari Wibowo and the Central Java Police Main Officials (PJU), as well as a number of invited guests from the Semarang Regency Forkopimda and various related agencies.

A total of 130 boxers from 25 gyms spread throughout Central Java took part in this prestigious event. They come from various backgrounds, ranging from students, students, beginner athletes, to senior athletes.

The Kapolda emphasized that this activity was not just a match, but was a tangible form of the Central Java Police's commitment to building a positive and competitive expression space for the younger generation, especially in the field of martial arts.

"Our enthusiasm to come closer to the community, as well as to encourage the growth of tough youths who are ready to face the challenges of the times," said Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo, Sunday, July 6.

According to him, through this match the Central Java Police want to help shape the character of the younger generation. Street boxing is not only a place for physical competition, but also trains mental, sportsmanship, discipline, and self-control. These important values are expected to be embedded strongly, both in participants and spectators, especially teenagers.

"I believe exercise is an effective means of building solidarity and keeping youth away from negative things. Central Java Police will continue to encourage the coaching activities of the younger generation through a humanist, educative, and collaborative approach," he said.

A total of 65 matches were presented in this event, divided into three main classes, namely: Pra-Yunior Class, followed by students and students, General Class, for beginner athletes and the general public and Senior Classes followed by experienced athletes.

Before boarding the ring, all participants went through a strict level of weight to ensure the match was fair and in accordance with the class. With a single elimination system, each participant will face a commensurate opponent determined by a professional match organizer, guaranteeing the quality and competitiveness of each match.

The winners in each class compete for the Central Java Police Chief Cup (Kapolda Cup), medals, award certificates, and coaching money which are expected to trigger their enthusiasm to continue to excel. Not only that, as a form of appreciation, all competing participants also get entertainment prizes from the organizers.
