The Location Of The Coal Mining In Central Bengkulu Regency Was Confiscated By The Prosecutor's Office For Corruption Cases

The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Special Crime Investigation Team (Pidsus) confiscated the location of a coal mine owned by PT Ratu Samban Mining in Bang Haji District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, related to alleged corruption cases.

"Today afternoon we confiscated the mine of PT RSM (Queen of Samban Mining). The confiscation is in accordance with the determination of the head of the North Bengkulu District Court (PN) Arga Makmur and a confiscation warrant from the Head of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office," said Head of the Special Investigation Section of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office, Danang Prasetyo quoting ANTARA, Sunday, July 6.

He said that the confiscation of the coal mining company was carried out because of acts against the law and abuse of authority.

In addition to confiscating the mine site belonging to PT Ratu Samban Mining in Bang Haji District, the investigative team will also confiscate the mine site belonging to the company in Taba Penanjung District, Central Bengkulu Regency.

Previously, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office investigation team explained that for the time being the state losses incurred in the mining corruption case that violated the IUP and forest added in two areas in Bengkulu Province reached hundreds of billions of rupiah.

"Temporary results show the potential loss to the state reaches hundreds of billions of rupiah, but this figure is still temporary because it is still in the process of being investigated," said Danang.

In addition, currently his party has coordinated with experts from the Public Accounting Office (KAP), environmental experts, and the scientific evidence team to calculate the state losses incurred in the mining company's corruption case.

Based on the results of the development of the case after a search was carried out at two mining company offices, namely PT Ratu Samban Mining (RSM) and PT Tunas Bara Jaya, it was discovered that the two companies carried out mining activities outside of permits owned and entered protected forest areas without valid permits.

For this reason, the investigation team of the Bengkulu Special Prosecutor's Office collected evidence and examined a number of parties to thoroughly reveal mining practices that not only harm state finances, but also have a major impact on environmental damage.

According to Danang, the two mining locations managed by the two mining companies are suspected of having violated the rules legally and administratively.

Meanwhile, currently the Bengkulu Special Crime Investigation Team (Pidsus) continues to investigate and collect additional evidence related to the determination of the suspect in the case.
