Secretary General Hezbollah Affirms Normalization Rejection With Israel And Resistance Continues
JAKARTA - Secretary-General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized that the Lebanese militant group will never accept normalization of relations with Israel and will continue to fight regime aggression against Lebanon.
This was conveyed by the Secretary General of Hezbollah in his speech on Ashura Day, Sunday, July 6, 2025.
In his speech, Sheikh Qassem rejected the normalization plan with the Israeli regime, calling it an insult to the dignity of regional countries.
He stressed that Hezbollah will never be part of the process, because true peace cannot be realized as long as the occupation continues.
"We face the enemy by defending Lebanon, and this defense will continue, even if the whole world opposes us. Release is an obligation, no matter how long it takes," he said, citing Al Mayadeen's IRNA, Sunday, July 6.
"How can you expect us to stop when the enemy continues to carry out his aggression? We cannot accept this," he continued.
"We will never accept surrender. We are the people on the pitch, and our position is clear: our right to win or their fakes are defeated," said Secretary General Hezbollah.
Hezbollah's leader referred to a ceasefire with Israel, which took effect at the end of November last year but was repeatedly violated by the regime.
He said the Israeli regime had committed thousands of violations, stressing, "We cannot be intimidated to the point of submission. No one has the right to demand us soften our position or strip weapons as long as enemy attacks continue," according to Al Mayadeen.
Sheikh Qassem also said that the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire must be accompanied by the cessation of aggression, the complete withdrawal of Israel, and the release of prisoners. He added that Hezbollah would be ready for discussion after the first phase of the ceasefire was implemented.
