Bogor Regent Calls 18 Districts Flooded To Landslides

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said as many as 18 sub-districts in Bogor Regency were affected by floods, landslides, and strong winds due to heavy rains that flushed the area since Saturday (5/7) night.

The 18 sub-districts affected by the disaster are Megamendung, Leuwisadeng, Tamansari, Cisarua, Dramaga, Kemang, Tenjolaya, Cijeruk, Caringin, Cibungbulang, Ciomas, Ciampea, Ciawi, Cigombong, Sukamakmur, Rancabungur, Cigudeg and Babakan Madang sub-districts.

The disaster also caused three residents to die, while a number of infrastructures and houses were damaged.

Three fatalities each came from Megamendung and Cisarua sub-districts.

In Megamendung, a 22-year-old student was reported missing due to landslides and has been successfully evacuated dead. In Cisarua, two residents were found dead due to landslides that occurred in the area," said Rudy.

In addition, a number of residents in Babakan Madang District were reportedly trapped on the hiking trail due to flooding. All of them have been successfully evacuated safely.

Rudy emphasized that the Bogor Regency Government together with the TNI, Polri, volunteers, and community elements continue to make efforts to deal with disasters, including evacuation, data collection, distribution of logistical assistance, and provision of health services for affected residents.

"We carry out emergency handling as quickly as possible. The safety of residents is a top priority, including logistics, evacuation, and post-disaster recovery," said Rudy.

He also appealed to the public to continue to increase vigilance, especially in areas prone to landslides and floods, and immediately report potential disasters to emergency services 112.
