Mercedes-Benz Latest CLA Has Many Interests, Waiting Period Until Next Year

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz launched the latest generation CLA in March 2025 with significant changes. Changes, ranging from a new exterior to the presence of a pure electric variant for the first time in this series.

In just about three months after the launch of the latest CLA, Mercedes-Benz reacted by increasing its production capacity. Because, this car gets high demand.

Launching from Carscoops, Saturday, July 5, the manufacturer nicknamed the "three-point star" received strong demand for the sedan, thus making Mercedes-Benz add a third shift to its assembly line to offset it.

This is reinforced by a statement by the board of directors for Production and Suppliers from Mercedes-Benz, Jorg Burzer, who stated the latest CLA request was excellent.

This makes the company have to increase production volume. Despite facing challenges from suppliers, the manufacturer itself has secured the components needed for this one car.

Currently, about 200 CLA units are out of production lines every day at the Mercedes plant in Stuttgart-Untertörkheim, Germany. With 250 working days a year, this is enough to produce around 50,000 units of vehicles per year.

However, the company also noted that the factory is not to produce up to hundreds of thousands of units. What's more, the MMA platform used by CLA is also built for other models.

Although demand is increasing, this makes customers have a longer waiting period to get their cars. It is also reported that a large number of CLAs units will not be sent until next year even though bookings opened in April.

This can encourage companies to temporarily stop employee orders for new CLAs, so loyal customers can get them first.

Meanwhile, the gasoline version of CLA will begin production in the coming months which will be followed by the presence of a shooting brake version near the end of this year.
