Ahead Of The Concert In Jakarta, Foo Fighters Introduces New Single Titled Today's Song

JAKARTA - Prior to his tour of Asia, with Jakarta as the starting point, Foo Fighters celebrated their 30th birthday as a band by releasing a new single titled 'Today's Song'.

As is known, the US rock band shared archives of their three decades of musical travel through social media in recent weeks.

In a statement posted on Foo Fighters' official Instagram account, Dave Grohl shared the song while remembering his years with the band and alluding to the death of the drummer, Taylor Hawkins, in 2022.

"Over the years, we have experienced uncontrollable moments of joy, and devastating moments of heartbreak. Beautiful moments of victory, and painful times of defeat," said Grohl.

We have healed broken bones and broken hearts. However, we have taken this path together, with each other, for each other, whatever happens. Because in life, you can't do it alone," he continued.

Grohl also mentioned other names that had been personnel of Foo Fighters, William Goldsmith to Josh Freese.

"It goes without saying that without infinite energy from William Goldsmith, Franz Stahl's mature wisdom, and Josh Freese's booming miracle, this story will not be complete," he said. "So, we express our deepest gratitude for the time, music, and memories we shared with each of them over the years."

Dan... Taylor. Your words are spoken every day, sometimes with tears, sometimes with smiles, but you're still there in every thing we do, wherever we go, forever. The magnitude of your beautiful soul can only be accompanied by the infinite longing we feel when you are gone. We all miss you without words. Foo Fighters will always include Taylor Hawkins in every tone we play, until we finally reach our goal.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters will visit Indonesia for the second time, through a single show at Carnaval Ancol, North Jakarta on October 2.

Concerts in Jakarta became Foo Fighters' first full stage after expelling Freese and they reportedly canceled a number of music festivals in Europe, following controversial news of Grohl in 2024.

Until this article was written, Foo Fighters concert tickets in Jakarta were still available, with prices ranging from Rp1,788,555 to Rp2,888,555 (not including entertainment taxes and service costs), and can be owned through the official website www.foojkt.com.
