JAKARTA - Spokesperson for handling COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) said that until now there are dozens of laboratories that are active to examine samples of patients suspected of having this virus.

In addition, the government also received an additional number of reagents for the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.

"The number of active laboratories is 35 laboratories. We are grateful that today, it is estimated that tonight, we will get additional reagents to optimize our existing laboratories and increase the number of laboratories," said Yuri in a press conference broadcast on the official BNPB YouTube account. Sunday, April 19.

This new reagent, he said, would then be distributed to all networked laboratories throughout Indonesia.

Regarding the COVID-19 case in Indonesia, Yuri said, currently, the laboratory has examined 47 thousand specimens taken through the swab method.

Of these, he explained, as many as 6,575 patients tested positive and this means there is an increase of 327 people from the previous figure.

"The confirmed cases of COVID-19 are 6,575 people. Of the positive confirmed cases, we have recovered 686 people and 582 people died," he explained.

Even though all provinces have been affected by COVID-19, however, Yurianto said, all recovery rates also occurred in all provinces. The highest recovery rate, said Yuri, was obtained by DKI Jakarta with 234 people.

Furthermore, in East Java it was reported that those who recovered reached 98 people. Then, in other provinces, such as Central Java, 51 people, West Java 45 people, and Sulawesi 43 people were declared cured.
