Kominfo Blocks TikTok Application In History Today, July 3, 2018

The blocking was carried out in stages from the website and then the application. The video sharing application is considered to contain a lot of negative content for children.

People are starting to take part in being active on TikTok. They try to be creative. Even though there are a lot of fears that children will be exposed to the bad influence of TikTok content.

The fear has been revealed by some experts. Many blame how parents fail to keep an eye on their children due to exposure to negative content from TikTok.

The emergence of negative content from TikTok to the Ministry of Communication and Information, Rudiantara. He immediately coordinated with the Ministry of Women and Children Empowerment. He also coordinated with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).

Coordination was carried out to get input. Rudiantara feels negative content has poisoned TikTok. Unfortunately, the content is consumed by children. Kominfo takes firm action. The owner of power immediately blocked the website and the TikTok application on July 3, 2018.

The effort was also to block eight Domain Name Systems (DNS) or internet addresses containing TikTok video content. Everything is done by the government for the common good. However, TikTok will not be blocked forever. TikTok is asked to clean up and remove negative content. After that, then the blocking was lifted.
