Follow Market Needs, BRI's Culinary Development MSMEs Successfully Expand International Markets

SOUTH TANGERANG - Developing a business from zero to being widely known, even going international, may be one of the dreams of any entrepreneur. Lina S. Rahmania, owner of Sanrah Food located in Serpong, South Tangerang.

Starting from looking for a busy life after her husband retired in 2015, Lina then got the idea to make her own business. He admitted that he was actively looking for information in the relevant agencies and agencies, then started thinking about what products to make.

"If you want to become an MSME, you have to have your own product. Coincidentally, my sister has a duck restaurant business, from there I tried to ask questions and finally I opened a shop in Jakarta called Warung Bebek Mas Yogi," Lina said.

After running his business for a year, Lina began to develop frozen food products ready to eat. This idea arises from his experience managing restaurants which is not easy. According to him, opening a shop requires employee management, shop rental costs, and must always be ready, both when crowded and quiet.

He also said that often they had cooked in large quantities, but buyers did not come. From this experience, Lina decided to switch to frozen food products. He said that his first product was a packaged ungkep duck, complete with chili sauce in a bottle.

After a long run, Lina is growing more and more products ranging from various variety of packaged sambal, gubernatorial ducks, gongkep chicken, firecracker squid, to frozen spicy lungs. After having many products, the Sanrah Food brand was also made which oversees around 20 products produced in his business kitchen.

"We make Sanrah Food, we take care of all the legality. We focus on selling chili sauce and frozen products because in terms of risk it is less. For best seller products, Sambal Hj Lina is actually the main thing because that's what we can export. In addition, the duck is also the most sought after. But other products also have their own market because we also supply several restaurants, "said Lina.

Sanrah Food products do not only meet domestic markets. Lina also admitted that she participated in exhibitions (Expo) several times for foreign markets, one of which was the FHA Food & Beverage 2025 which took place in Singapore on April 8-11, 2025. He admitted that BRI support for MSMEs such as his business could continue to grow, especially in expanding business sales.

I started participating in the expo with BRI in the 2020s. I often participated in expos from national to international, last in Singapore earlier this year. BRI has many fostered MSMEs, up to thousands. And I feel very proud to be selected for curation, because as the expo in Singapore is only 20 businesses that can be selected," Lina said.

Lina admitted that BRI's commitment to supporting MSMEs was unquestionable. He had received various guidance and assistance during his time as BRI fostered MSMEs. In addition to business assistance, he also gets easy access to KUR funding. BRI not only supports exhibition activities (expo), but also encourages business actors to penetrate the export market.

"Many facilities are provided, such as pick-up, free delivery of products, lodging, and food. BRI also buys product samples for expo needs that are not carried out by other parties. My participation in the expo organized by BRI has an impact on introducing products to be more widely known and increase sales," he added.

Lina is committed to continuing to develop Sanrah Food as well as possible. He admitted that he was often motivated to see young people being able to develop their business, so he didn't want to be left behind.

"If the age may be different, but my spirit still doesn't want to lose. I still try to keep up with the times and market needs so that Sanrah Food can still produce quality products," he continued.

On a separate occasion, BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi emphasized BRI's commitment to building a comprehensive and globally oriented MSME empowerment ecosystem. BRI is committed to building an integrated empowerment ecosystem so that more Indonesian MSMEs can go global and contribute to the world's economic stage.

"The achievement of Sanrah Food is a reflection of how the competitiveness of MSMEs is not only determined by product quality alone. Comprehensive empowerment support, starting from financing, increasing business capacity to global market connectivity, is a key factor in encouraging MSMEs to upgrade to class," explained Hendy.
