Working Meeting With DPR, Minister Trenggono Affirms Four Islands In Anambas Cannot Be Traded

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) provided an explanation regarding the issue of the sale of four Anambas Islands on foreign sites that had gone viral some time ago.

In a working meeting (raker) with Commission IV of the DPR RI, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said, there were at least four Anambas Islands advertised on the foreign site.

"Let us provide an explanation regarding the issue of the sale of four islands in Anambas Regency, namely Ritan Island, Tokongsendok Island, Mala Island and Nakok Island on foreign sites," Trenggono said at the Working Meeting at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 2.

The four of them are located in South Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Islands.

Trenggono emphasized that small islands should not be traded. This has been regulated in a number of regulations, including Law (UU) No. 27 of 2007 in conjunction with 1/2014 concerning Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands.

Then, Government Regulation (PP) No.18/2021 concerning Management Rights, Land Rights, Flats and Land Registration Units and Ministerial Regulation No.10/2024 concerning the Utilization of Small Islands and the surrounding waters.

"In accordance with existing laws and regulations, small islands should not be traded and the law is clear," said Trenggono.

As a follow-up, Trenggono said, his party will conduct socialization and education to the public regarding existing regulations and regulations regarding the management and utilization of small islands.

"Furthermore, the KKP conducts socialization and education to the public regarding these rules and regulations," he added.
