RUA 2025: APJATEL National Standard Flats For Fiber Optical Relocation

JAKARTA - The Telecommunication Network Operators Association (APJATEL) officially held the 2025 APJATEL Members General Meeting (RUA APJATEL 2025), with the theme "Not New, Together Going Forward".

Here, APJATEL compiled a standard for relocating optical fiber networks nationally, given the difference in regulations between the center and the regions, which could increase the cost burden for companies and ultimately have an impact on increasing service prices to the community.

Because according to the APJATEL Supervisory Board, Bambang Prastowo, the current condition of fiber optic cables is caused by a lack of clear integration and standards.

"The network relocation must consider spatial planning to be in line with the rapid development of infrastructure in Indonesia. Therefore, standardization is the first step to create a neat and integrated network," Bambang said in a statement received on Tuesday, July 1.

This effort is also in line with APJATEL's commitment to support national digital transformation, which is carried out through strengthening telecommunications networks.

"Currently, APJATEL has prepared a mock-up pole together and is reviewing the standard design to be implemented," he explained further.

Nevertheless, to make it happen, APJATEL emphasized the need for solid collaboration between associations, the private sector, and the government so that Indonesia's digital transformation can run with one vision and mission.

With the strong support of members, regulators, industry players, and other stakeholders, APJATEL believes that this implementation will have a positive impact not only on the internal organization, but also on the national telecommunications ecosystem as a whole.
