Google Launches New Gemini Service For Education Needs

JAKARTA Google introduces new solutions for students and educators. There are two solutions that the company announced, namely Gemini for Education and Gemini on the Classroom platform.

Gemini for Education is a version of Gemini's application designed with the Gemini 2.5 Pro learning model. This service offers default access to Google's Premium AI model. Limits are offered much higher than Gemini's free version.

Google says that this service has company-level data protection. That way, users don't have to worry about the security risks because their data is protected by industry-leading security.

Google also introduced Gemini in Classroom for free for Google Workspace for Education users. Thanks to Gemini in Classroom, educators can access 30 new capabilities that can help them teach.

Educators can use Gemini to plan and differentiate material more quickly, such as creating a complete vocabulary list with the definition and example of a sentence. Educators can also create customized Artificial Intelligence (AI) experts.

They can create Gems like 'Interactive Simulations' based on the tasks and reading of courses involving their students. This ability is still in the development stage and will be available in the coming months.

Google also revealed plans to launch the Video Overviews feature in the NotebookLM application. If Audio Overviews will focus on creating a material-based podcast, this feature will turn sources into educational videos.

This feature will be available in the coming weeks. However, Google did not explain whether this feature would be launched in the US in advance or immediately launched globally.
