Ministry Of Education And Culture Appreciates Musicians In The 1970s: Efforts To Advance Indonesian Culture In The Middle Of World Civilization

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Culture (Kemenbud) has again held the Legend 'Harmoni Zaman' Music stage as a form of appreciation for Indonesian musicians whose works have accompanied Indonesia's journey as a nation and state.

In May, musicians who achieved glory in the 1960s, Ernie Djohan, Titiek Sandora, Muchsin Alatas, and Teti Kadi were shown this time, they were the ones who grew up in the 1970s, namely The Rollies, Panbers (Panjaitan Brothers), The Mercy's, and Black Selection Band.

In a stage held in Senayan, Central Jakarta on Monday, June 30, Minister of Culture (Menbud) Fadli Zon said the series of stages presented could not be separated from the form of appreciation to musicians who had a big contribution in giving their own colors to the lives of the people of the country.

We really appreciate these legendary musicians, and we want these activities to be the connectors of the past, present and future. Because their songs are songs that I think are very colorful in their time," said Fadli.

Menbud Fadli even said that the works born to musicians were his own wealth for Indonesia.

"At this time, (the works of the legends) are a wealth for all of us," he added.

Fadli realized the lack of appreciation for Indonesian musicians in the past, therefore he ensured that the state would continue to be present to give appreciation and support to art actors, not only music, but also artists from other realms.

Furthermore, Fadli said that it had become a constitutional mandate of Article 32 of the 1945 Constitution that the state must advance Indonesia's national culture in the midst of world civilization.

"Hopefully we can develop Indonesian music so that it is increasingly known in the midst of world civilization. This is the most important thing. As mandated by our constitution, how to advance Indonesian culture in the midst of world civilization," he concluded.
