Babel Provincial Government Legal Team Collaborates With Dozens Of Advocates To Sue Pulau Tujuh To MK
PANGKALPINANG - The Legal Team of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government has named dozens of advocates to file a lawsuit against Pulau Tujuh to the Constitutional Court (MK) to return the island to the area.
"This is a form of the seriousness of the Governor of the Babel Islands Hidayat Arsani who will bring the case of Pulau Tujuh to the Constitutional Court," said Special Staff to the Governor for Legal Advocacy of the Babel Islands Apparatus Kemas Akhmad Tajuddin in Pangkalpinang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 30.
He said that actually many advocates have been willing to involve themselves in strengthening the Babel Islands Provincial Legal Team to file a lawsuit against Pulau Tujuh to the Constitutional Court.
"At least 21 advocates from Bangka Belitung have been recorded and from outside the region who have expressed their willingness to be part of the Babel Legal Team, but currently 12 advocates have only been appointed chaired by senior lawyer Agus Hendriyadi," he said.
He stated that in the evaluation meeting data, documents and information that were important and relevant to the problem of Pulau Tujuh, including the existence of Pulau Tujuh, which had been in the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Administration area for a long time.
In addition, the update on the submission of data on the naming of Island Seven is complete with coordinates from the Bangka Regency Government to the Governor of the Babel Islands in 2007 to fulfill the request for materials for the National Team for naming and regional boundaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"This data has not been fully inputted by the Ministry of Home Affairs National Team and it is a sign of why the valid data has not been inputted. This fact will be brought and questioned to the Ministry of Home Affairs for clarification," he said.

In this evaluation meeting, other facts were also conveyed that the Ministry of Home Affairs should have taken into consideration in setting regional boundaries, including when it was about to process the determination of the Ministry of Home Affairs number 100.1.1-6117 of 2022 regarding the provision and updating of data codes for administrative areas.
"Such facts when litigating at the Constitutional Court will be used as part of evidence for irregularities and mistakes in Law Number 31 of 2003 concerning the Establishment of Lingga Regency which includes Pulau Tujuh into the administrative area of Lingga Regency," he said.
