Arya Novanda And Gugun Blues Shelter Collaboration On Single 'Soulmate Blues'

JAKARTA - Two blues music fighters from Indonesia, Arya Novanda and Gugun Blues Shelter, introduced a collaboration single with the title 'Soulmate Blues' a blues-R&B work that voiced mental unrest towards modern life that felt increasingly lost.

With the spirit of blues music emotionally expressing mental unrest, this song is a reflection of the shift in value and meaning in the way humans live life and music in the fast and instant era.

"This song was born from personal unrest about how music and life are now becoming shallower," said Arya Novanda through a press release received by VOI, Sunday, June 29.

Still carrying the classic blues color with a touch of R&B, the 'Soulless Blues' is aimed at not only inviting listeners to enjoy the nuances of warm music, but also to reflect.

The lyrics explore deep differences between past generations who live with heart and soul, and today's generation who, although more sophisticated, often lose depth in feeling.

"We live fast, we consume fast music, we forget to give space to feel. 'Soulless Blues' is not only a social criticism, but also an invitation to find meaning both in music and life," said Arya.

"In an increasingly digital world, this song comes as a reminder that soul is something that algorithms cannot replicate," he added.

To illustrate it, Arya quoted the words of the blues legend, BB King, regarding the problem of a lost soul (soulless) in music: In the past, we played guitar to treat wounds. Now many are playing just to be seen. Music that doesn't come from the heart, will sound... but will never touch.

This song was born from personal unrest about how music and life are now becoming shallower. We live fast, we consume fast music, we forget to make room to feel it," concluded Arya.
