Batik Air Plane Slipped At Soetta Airport, Airlines Revealed The Cause

TANGERANG - A viral video on social media shows Batik Air plane almost slipping while landing at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City.

The video uploaded by the @aboutavox account, seen Tires from the Batik Air plane, caused panic both on the plane and at Soetta Airport.

The screams of passengers at Soetta Airport continued to echo when the plane had experienced problems in the rain that flushed Soekarno Hatta Airport.

Corporate Communications Strategic of Batik Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 28, yesterday.

(The cause) is an increase in wind speed from the side direction (crosswind) when the phase approaches to the runway. The wind direction does not change, but the speed increases," said Danang in his statement, Sunday, June 29.

However, even though there has been a change in the wind, said Danang, the Batik Air aircraft with PK-LDJ registration has followed according to procedures.

Therefore, even though there are a few obstacles, the PK-LDJ registration aircraft is still running safely.

"Limitatively (maximum limit) wind speed, nothing is violated, so the plane remains in a safe condition to land," said Danang.

On his occasion, he ensured that his party always emphasized that the safety and security of passengers has always been a top priority in its operations.

Therefore, his party always checks both landings and flights.

Batik Air emphasized that flight safety and security are top priorities in every operation, and we continue to be committed to carrying out procedures according to applicable aviation safety standards," he concluded.
