With Orange Vests, North Sumatra PUPR Head Topan Ginting Becomes A Suspect After Being Caught OTT KPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially appointed the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting along with four other people after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Thursday, June 26.

From observations in the field, Typhoon wore an orange vest for KPK detainees. He was also presented at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"We will present a description related to the arrest of the alleged corruption in the road construction project at the PUPR Service and projects at the North Sumatra PJN Satker Region 1," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu at a press conference.

Asep explained that this silent operation started with a public complaint. It is suspected that bribery occurred related to the work of road projects from the private sector to state officials.

Based on VOI sources, Topan became the last party to be brought to the anti-corruption commission office after the OTT was carried out.

The Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Medan City Water Resources, Highways and Construction Agency and had served as Acting (Plt) of the Medan City Secretary.

This position was occupied by Typhoon when Bobby, who is also the son-in-law of the President of the Republic of Indonesia-7 Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was still serving as Mayor of Medan.

Setelah ditetapkan jadi tersangka, Topan bersama empat orang lainnya akan ditahan di Rutan KPK. Upaya paksa ini dilaksanakan selama 20 hari pertama dan akan diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.
