TNI AD Hands Over House Assistance For Warakawuri And Defected Soldiers

JAKARTA The atmosphere of emotion enveloped the Army Headquarters (Mabesad), Thursday (26/6/2025). Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, M.Sc., together with the General Chairperson of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana, Mrs. Uli Simanjuntak, handed over non-service houses and education compensation to the families of soldiers who died and soldiers who were disabled due to operational duties.

A total of 25 Warakawuri from various regions received home assistance. They are the wives of soldiers who died in assignments between 2020-2025. The handover was carried out symbolically to eight representatives. In addition, five soldiers who were disabled in category C Level II due to their duties for the 2019-2024 period also received assistance.

The Indonesian Army ensures educational scholarships for children of soldiers until the age of 25. This commitment is taken to ensure the future of families who have lost their backbone.

The event was warm. Through a video conference, Kasad had a direct dialogue with recipients from all over Indonesia. He emphasized that the soldiers' sacrifices would never be forgotten.

"Hopefully the mothers will remain strong. The children grow up well. Believe me, the sacrifices of the mother's husband are not in vain," General Maruli was quoted as saying in a written statement received Friday, June 27.

To the soldiers who now have disabilities, Kasad ensures that support continues. They are also entitled to non-official houses, including those who have not taken home loans.

"TWP funds will be used to help the education of soldiers' children," he said.

During his 1.5 years in office, Kasad made total improvements to the Housing Mandatory Savings system. This effort will continue to answer the real needs of soldiers in the field. This year, the Indonesian Army has 17 active schools and will soon build another school for the children of the soldiers' families.

In addition to housing assistance, the Indonesian Army has also added 25 operational vehicles, ranging from MPV, SUVs, to water tanker trucks. This vehicle will strengthen unit mobility in various regions.

We continue to add official vehicles. Since I took office, more than 400 vehicles have been distributed. This year alone there were 126 vehicles, previously in 2024 as many as 304 units, "explained Kasad.

This step is clear evidence that the TNI AD has not forgotten the families of soldiers. House and education assistance is not just ceremonial, but a promise that is realized to safeguard the future of those who have sacrificed on the front lines.
