Mykhailo Mudryk Is Threatened With A Prohibition Of Playing For Up To Four Years On Allegations Of Doping
JAKARTA - Mykhailo Mudryk faces a four-year ban after the English Football Federation (FA) charged the Chelsea winger with doping offenses.
The 24-year-old was temporarily suspended in December 2024 after testing positive for a performance boost called melidanium.
The Blues are waiting for the results of the 'B' sample test to support or oppose the preliminary results of 'A'. The FA announced last week that the Ukrainian winger now has the potential to face further penalties.
"We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with violating Anti-Doping Rules alleging the existence and/or use of prohibited substances, in accordance with Regulations 3 and 4 of the FA Anti-Doping Regulation."

"Because this is an ongoing case, we have not been able to provide further comment at this time," the FA said in a statement.
Chelsea declined to comment on FA's latest actions. Guidelines show Mudryk can now face a long suspension even though the player previously denied violating any rules.
According to ESPN reports, the drug may have been given when it was outside the UK.
Shortly after the public's initial suspension was discovered in December 2024, Mudryk wrote on Instagram that this was really surprising because it had never consciously used prohibited substances or violated any rules. He said he was working with the team to investigate how it happened.
"I know that I didn't make any mistakes and still hope to get back on the pitch soon."
"I can't say anything right now because of the confidentiality of the process, but I will say it soon," he said.
