Vietnamese Airlines Add New Fleet, Traveling Route Options Are Increasingly Diverse

JAKARTA - In recent years, interest in international travel has increased, especially to tourist destinations that are not too crowded but rich in culture.

To compensate for the need for comfortable, efficient, and environmentally friendly flights, airlines in Asia are starting to expand massively. One of the airlines that took this strategic step was Vietjet.

The Vietnamese airline marks an important achievement at Paris Airshow 2025 with the signing of an agreement to purchase 100 Airbus A 321neo aircraft, along with options for 50 additional units in the future.

In addition, to strengthen its long-distance flight services, Vietjet also added 40 Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines to its fleet ranks.

This step not only expands capacity, but also supports operational efficiency as well as adapts to the demands of increasingly diverse global travel.

"We will continue to build a strong fleet as an important milestone that marks the start of a new chapter in travel with more diverse routes, sustainable growth, wider connectivity, and development of an aviation ecosystem driven by ambition and transformation," explained Chairwoman Vietjet, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao in his statement.

The strengthening of the fleet also supports the airline's long-term plans to open more routes to Europe and improve service quality in the Asia-Pacific region.

This is a continuation of the order for 20 A330neo aircraft that was announced last month. With the combination of narrow and wide-body fleets, Vietjet has the flexibility to reach more destinations with various flight durations.

The A321neo plane itself is known as one of the most efficient units in its class, this type of aircraft is considered more environmentally friendly because of innovations in reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 20 percent compared to the previous generation.

Fuel capacity and wider reach make it suitable for medium and long-distance routes. Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines embedded on A330neo aircraft offer proven high efficiency and reliability, with advanced monitoring systems to ensure long-term optimal performance.

This move taken by the airline shows how regional airlines are getting more serious in responding to the challenges of the modern aviation industry.
