Rolls-Royce Auction Results For Undian Prizes Used For Renovation Of Poor People's Houses

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf conveyed that the auction results for a luxury Rolls-Royce car were used to renovate the houses of underprivileged residents in Makassar City, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) and support economic empowerment programs in the surrounding environment.

"Most of the auction proceeds are used for the renovation of 20 houses of underprivileged residents in Makassar. The value of renovation assistance for each house is around Rp. 80 million. The rest will be used for empowerment of the surrounding community," said Saifullah Yusuf when met after the delivery of the auction car at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery Complex Warehouse, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 24, as reported by ANTARA.

He explained that the assistance would be focused on Naila's family, prospective students of the People's School in Makassar, and their neighbors who live in poor social conditions.

Assistance is channeled through the Integrated Prosperous House (RST) scheme, which includes not only decent housing, but also social entrepreneurship assistance.

"We want this assistance not only for a decent place to live, but also to enable residents to be independent," he said.

The Makassar City Government is expected to prepare land for the construction of houses, while the Ministry of Social Affairs will carry out the construction process using the auction proceeds.

This program will also involve the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas as well as partners from the private sector.

The Rolls-Royce car that was previously auctioned was a lottery prize for Batik Air airline in 2016 which was not taken by the winner. According to the provisions, the vehicle was then handed over to the Ministry of Social Affairs and auctioned through the Ministry of Finance.

The auction has been carried out three times. After two failed, because there was no offer, the third auction which took place on June 3, 2025 was finally successful.

The luxury vehicle was sold to residents of Sidoarjo, East Java, with a value of Rp2,539,957,000. Before being won by Sidoarjo residents, the price offered based on the determination of the KPKNL was Rp. 1,739,957,000.

The winner of the auction is Mr. Khoirul Umam Musoffah. He paid off the payment on June 18, 2025, and today we will hand over the vehicle directly," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs still has several other vehicles and assets, such as electric cars to gold bars which are also planned to be auctioned.

"God willing, in the near future, we will announce the next auction and the results will certainly be reported to the President to be used for people in need," he said.
