Customs Reveals 172 Drug Cases, Evidence Confiscated 683 Kg
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) revealed through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) that efforts to eradicate narcotics trafficking are no longer limited to supervision at state entry points such as ports and airports.
Director of Communication and Guidance for Customs Service Users Nirwala Dwi Heryanto said Customs and Excise also actively moved to dismantle narcotics networks that use domestic interprovincial crossings as a means of distribution.
In addition, he said that his party continues to expand the scope of prosecution to domestic areas that are used as hubs by drug syndicates and this is done through synergies with other law enforcement officers (APH) under the coordination of the Drug Eradication Desk.
"This step shows a strong commitment to closing all gaps in circulation, from upstream to downstream, in order to protect the public from the dangers of narcotics that are increasingly hidden and organized," he said in his statement, Monday, June 23.
As a form of transparency and accountability for the results of the narcotics prosecution work, Customs and Excise and BNN held a press conference to reveal cases of narcotics crimes from April to June 2025 at the Customs Headquarters.
He said that this success not only proves the effectiveness of collaboration between agencies, but also shows that the state is present and firm in dealing with narcotics crimes that are organized and have a broad impact.
Based on data from BNN RI, during the period April to June 2025 there were 172 Narcotics Case Reports (LKN).
The total evidence reached 683,885.79 grams. In detail, methamphetamine was 308,631.73 grams; marijuana 372,265.9 grams; ecstasy 6,640 grains or the equivalent of 2,663.21 grams; THC 179.42 grams; hashish 104.04 grams; and amphetamine 41.49 grams.

Nirwala emphasized that the disclosure of narcotics cases is clear evidence of the importance of synergy between agencies in eradicating the increasingly complex circulation of narcotics.
"Bea Excise is committed to continuing to strengthen strategic collaboration, with BNN RI and other law enforcement officers, both in terms of intelligence, supervision, and prosecution. We hope that this synergy can be more solid and adaptive to future challenges, in order to protect the nation's generation from the threat of narcotics," he concluded.
