3 Supporters Killed And 70 Injured In The Euphoria Of The Algerian Football League Victory

JAKARTA - At least three people were killed and 70 others injured after falling from the stands over stadium spectators in the match that determines the main league of Algerian football on Saturday, June 21.

The incident began after the referee blew the whistle over the end of the second half with a goalless draw that automatically defended the league title for the MC Alger team.

The photos taken after the incident clearly show a collapsed tribune security barrier lying on the stadium field with a capacity of 64,200 spectators.

"Beni Messous University Hospital received 38 injured, while three people died. Ben Aknoun Hospital also received 27 injured people, while Bab El Oued Hospital received 16 people," said a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Health, quoted from Metro UK, Monday 23 June.

Related parties then announced that the trophy handover ceremony to the MC Alger team was postponed with an undetermined time limit.
