The Padang Pariaman Regency Police, West Sumatra named SJ alias Wanda (W) as a suspect in the murder and mutilation case of a woman with the initials SA whose body was found washed away in the Batang Anai River on Tuesday, June 17.

"We have named SJ summons W as a suspect (this morning). The evidence collected by fellow investigators is sufficient to determine the suspect," said Padang Pariaman Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Iptu AA Reggy in Parik Malintang, Sunday, June 22.

He said the determination as a suspect was after his party conducted an investigation by finding a number of evidences that weighed on the perpetrators.

He said that although SJ had been named a suspect, his party was still asking for information from a number of witnesses to dig deeper into the case and find new evidence for the perpetrator's crime.

Currently, he continued, his party is still waiting for the results of DNA examinations on the evidence used by SJ to carry out and launch the suspect's actions from related parties.

"Likewise with the autopsy results, we are still waiting," he said.

Reggy also conveyed the alleged motive for the perpetrator who had the heart to kill SA and cut his body into several parts and throw it into the river on Sunday (15/6).

Even though the suspect's confession was the motive for the perpetrator's debt, the local police are still developing the case by examining a number of witnesses.

"It is suspected that it was due to a debt case, but if there is new information, we will report it back," he said.

It is known that after the discovery of pieces of a woman's body washed up in the Batang Anai River, the local police arrested SJ as the alleged perpetrator of the murder and mutilation of the victim in the early hours of Thursday (19/6).

From the arrest, the police revealed the alleged case of two teenage women who went missing last year and were included in the list of missing people with the discovery of two human skeletons in the perpetrator's well.

It is suspected that the two women were also killed by the suspect and put the victim's body in the well in his house.

The police have issued a skeleton in the well and conducted an autopsy to confirm the identity of the victim.
