BIL Fest 2025, Kemenpora Encourages Young Generation Literacy Activities
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) encourages activities initiated by young people in various regions. Thus, it can increase the creativity of Indonesia's young generation.
This was conveyed by the Steering Committee for the Policy and Communication Strategy Team of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Wildanshah, who also appreciated the 2025 Banyumas International Literacy Festival (BIL Fest) activities which was held from 12 to 18 June 2025 at Hetero Space Banyumas.
"The Ministry of Youth and Sports will always support literacy movements initiated by youth in the regions," Wildanshah said in his statement, Friday, June 20.
The first independent literacy festival in the region attracted more than 1,000 visitors and presented more than 30 public activities. The event celebrates the spirit of reading, writing, and working.
Carrying the theme 'Temenan' is serious in Javanese and friendly in the Indonesian BIL Fest is a warm and inclusive space that brings together writers, artists, and the grassroots community.
The series of events included book discussions with national writers, creative workshops, art exhibitions, musical and theater performances, as well as the provision of Ahmad Tohari Awards for inspiring young writers.

Cultural observer Ahmad Tohari expressed his appreciation for the 2025 BIL Fest. For him, the event became a forum for local writers.
"I am very happy with an event like this that provides a place for local writers to express inspiration into a work," said Ahmad Tohari.
Meanwhile, the Special Staff of the Minister of Culture, Nissa Rengganis, hopes that the BIL Fest will be held every year.
"I am also excited about the enthusiasm of the Banyumas community and hope that the BIL Fest will continue to be held every year with a wider scope," said Nissa.
On the other hand, festival initiator, Rahmi Wijayanti, added that the BIL Fest will be a sustainable literacy movement. He hopes that many writers in Banyumas can be known to the national level.
"BIL Fest is expected to be a sustainable literacy movement, opening more discussion, reading, and working spaces for the people of Banyumas," said Rahmi.
