A Obscene Comment Diver In FB About Malaysian PM's Daughter Dragged To Green Table
JAKARTA - A diver commented obscenely to Nurul Izzah Anwar, daughter of Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim on social media (medsos) was dragged to court, Friday, June 20.
In the first trial related to the case, the defendant named Ruslan Mat Ali, 48, dismissed the charges filed against him having commented indecently through his Facebook account (FB) to Nurul Izzah earlier this year.
Citing Bernama, the defendant was accused of knowingly producing and spreading indecent and very obscene comments with the intention of disturbing other people on their FB accounts in their names allegedly carried out between January 21 and February 25.
The charges against the diver are based on Article 233(1)(a) of the 1998 Communications and Multimedia Law, which stipulates fines do not exceed RM50,000, or imprisonment for up to one year, or both, after being found guilty.
Based on the first indictment, the indecent post was accessed on February 4 at around 7.00 am at MCMC Tower 1, Jalan Impact, Cyber 6, Cyberjaya.
For the second to eleven charges, the post was accessed on February 26, between 1,51 pm and 4.30 pm, at the MCMC Center of Excellence, Jalan Impact, Cyber 6, Cyberjaya.
