Bali Airport Returns To Normal After Many Cancellations Of The Impact Of Lewotobi Eruption
DENPASAR - Airport Manager I Gusti Ngurah Rai, in Denpasar, Bali, stated that all flights had returned to normal since Wednesday (18/6) last night.
"The flight of several airlines that previously experienced cancellation due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Male is gradually returning to operation," said Head of the Communication and Legal Division of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Thursday, June 19.
On Wednesday (18/6), more than 80 arrival and departure flights from international and domestic routes experienced a cancellation of travel due to the re-upruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
However, since Wednesday night starting from domestic routes such as Cengkareng-Labuan Bajo, and Semarang have been operating normally.
The good news was followed by normal flights to Australia, such as Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, and flights to Singapore had departed from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in the early hours of this morning.
"We also received confirmation that the flight, which was canceled yesterday, will land and depart today," said Eka Sandi.
It was recorded that as of yesterday afternoon from 87 flight cancellations due to being affected by the eruption, as many as 66 international flights and 21 domestic flights.
The eruption of Mount Lewotobi Male forced passengers on the Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, New Delhi, Darwin, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Perth, Pudong, Singapore, Sydney, and Ho Chi Minh routes to the intended location.

However, today the flight took place, including Malaysia Airline for the Kuala Lumpur route; Virgin Australia for Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne; Jetstar for Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin; Vietnam Air for Ho Chi Minh; Singapore Airlines for Singapore; Juneyao Airlines for Pudong; and Malindo Air for Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar-Perth.
Eka Sandi ensured that until now all I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport operations were running in an orderly and smooth manner, both the departure process and the arrival of passengers.
"We urge prospective passengers to reconfirm their flight schedules to each airline," he said again.
