JAKARTA - Since Israel launched an attack on Iran last Friday, Iran has launched more than 400 missiles and hundreds of drones into Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the attack had hit 40 locations across Israel, resulting in nearly 19,000 claims of damage filed with tax authorities.

So far, 24 people have died in Israel, more than 800 people have been injured and more than 3,800 people have been evacuated from their homes, the office said.

224 people have been killed in Iran since Friday, according to Iranian authorities.

Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar sent a letter to the United Nations Security Council (UN) claiming Iran had a "strategic plan" to eliminate his country.

Iran has a strategic plan to eliminate Israel. Israel cannot and will not accept the threat of annihilation! Saar wrote on X as reported by CNN, Friday, June 18.

Israel's attack on Iran was launched following critical developments in Iran's nuclear weapons program and is also aimed at thwarting imminent threats from missile attacks and other Iranian proxies.

The decision to attack was taken as a last resort, said a letter sent to the United Nations.
