The US Embassy In Jerusalem Is Closed In The Aftermath Of The Iran-Israel War
JAKARTA - The US Embassy in Jerusalem was closed from Wednesday to Friday due to the security situation in the region and to comply with Israeli directives.
"Given the security situation and in accordance with the direction of Israel's Domestic Front Command, the US Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) until Friday (June 20). This includes the Consular Section in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv," the US State Department said.
The US Embassy in Jerusalem previously reiterated its warning that it could not help Americans in Israel leave the country.
"The US Embassy is currently not in a position to evacuate or directly help Americans leave Israel," the embassy said in a recent security warning on Monday, June 16 local time.
The notice instructs all US government employees and their families to continue to take shelter on the spot.
The US issued a similar guide a few days ago after Israel launched its initial attack on Iran, which sparked a back and forth attack that has now entered its fifth day.
