As A Result Of The Iranian And Israeli Wars, 3 Countries Resign From ASFC In Bali
JAKARTA The war between Israel and Iran forced three countries to withdraw from the 2025 Asian Asian Senior Fencing Championships (ASFC) which took place in Bali.
ASFC will take place at the Bali International Convention Center Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, 17-23 June 2025. The three countries that must withdraw from this prestigious event are Iran, Iraq, and Kuwait.
Secretary General of the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Anggara Association (PB Ikasi), Firtian Judiswandarta, in an official statement received said that the three countries could not attend not on purpose but because of force majeure.
"In fact, the Kuwaiti fencing team that was already on the plane was forced to cancel flights. The three countries have also apologized for their absence from the 2025 Asian Budget Championships," he said.

The initial participants in the 2025 Asian Budget Championships registered were 30 countries. However, the resignation of the three countries automatically reduced the number of participants in this important event to only 27 countries.
Indonesia as the host also fielded 25 athletes. They are also targeted to perform well in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games event in Thailand by the end of this year.
"On behalf of PB Ikasi, I express my concern. Hopefully the Iranian vs Israel war will end soon," said Yudis, Firtian Judiswandarta's nickname.
The championship, which is a point collection event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, will open to the President of the Asian Budget Confederation (FCA), Marijual Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi.
While reviewing the preparations, Yudis also had a dialogue with the Member of the Executive Committee of the International Budget Federation (FIE), Wang Aibin, who asked for input regarding the implementation of the World Budget Championship, especially Indonesia, to host the 2026 Kadet Budget World Championship.
"I propose to FIE so that the referees assigned to the World Championships can come from countries close to the organizers so that they can reduce the cost of implementation," he said.
