Don't Be A Victim, This Is A Smart Strategy To Face Sophisticated Technology
JAKARTA - The development of the digital era is still ongoing. Every day we are treated with floods of information from various directions. But apparently, this condition also makes the Indonesian people even more confused. Sometimes the information is useful for themselves. However, not a few of the information is misleading.
According to professor Dr. Widodo Muktiyo, M.Comm, public communication expert and founder of the GPR Institute, nowadays people are at war without knowing who their opponents are in cyberspace.
"Cognitively, we are like our opponents and friends, something that is not clear. Information continues to flow in Indonesian society, but not to mention people blaming technology. Even though we should face this with a strategy," said Prof. Dr. Widodo, from an official statement.
"If artificial intelligence or digital technology is getting smarter, we must also be able to have a smarter strategy," explained Prof. Widodo.
According to him, the way someone responds to information cannot be justified immediately. Must be wise, smart, careful, and aware that sometimes the information attack can come secretly.
Prof. Widodo also invites us to be more aware of national values. For him, now everyone has a role to play in promoting the nation. In addition, every generation cannot be generalized.
The baby boomers generation must have different perspectives with generation Z or millennials. According to Prof. Widodo, now institutions such as BPIP (Pancasila Ideology Development Agency) are conducting tests, because it ensures that the value of Pancasila remains relevant.
Indonesia is not just rich or wide. What Bung Karno hopes is that Indonesian people have strong quality and character. That's just great," he added.
In addition, Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communication Office of the Republic of Indonesia, also gave a statement at the event. For him, now humans have lived in the world of simulations for too long, aka cyberspace.
"So long we have been in cyberspace, it feels like seeing our own palms. The real world actually needs filtered information. But now, any information is considered healing, viral, and true. But not necessarily, "said Hasan.
According to Hasan, the attack currently faced was not physical, but immediately attacked the mind.

This is a form of cognitive attack. Not targeting physically, but targeting our minds. So if it is affected, all decisions can be wrong. Information wrapped is interesting, looks entertaining, can touch egos, anger, stress, and even hatred. In the end, it is considered the truth. But not necessarily," he explained.
Hasan also reminded about the dangers of pseudo reality on social media. Many people are trapped in an unrealistic world, and this could lead to divisions.
"We have to go back to reality. Don't let us break because of inaccurate information. Especially if we don't know each other, the interaction will be less. We need mutual awareness. Friends on social media must also play a role in this," he explained.
