In Front Of PM Lawrence, Prabowo Instructs Airports In Indonesia To Increase Air Connectivity To Singapore

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the opening of airports in Indonesian cities to increase direct flight connectivity from Singapore's airlines.

"I have instructed the relevant ministries in Indonesia to increase the opening of all airports to direct the connection of foreign airlines to our airport, many of which still need to be opened," President Prabowo said in a voice recording received in Jakarta, Monday, as reported by Antara.

The President said that Indonesia is committed to increasing flight intensity as before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, even higher in the number of flights.

On the other hand, the President emphasized that the infrastructure and air safety mechanisms were also improved in line with the airport opening for direct flights from Singapore.

"However, in principle, I would like to see easier and faster access to our airport," Prabowo said.

In his remarks, President Prabowo Subianto also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the Singapore government and congratulated Lawrence Wong for being re-elected as Prime Minister.

President Prabowo also recalled his closeness to Singapore from childhood and emphasized the strong personal and historical relationship between Indonesian and Singaporean leaders.

Indonesian delegates accompanying President Prabowo in the annual meeting included Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani.

In addition, the Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo were also present.
