Israeli Attack Kills Three Iranian Taekwondo Athletes And Equestrian Champions
JAKARTA - The Israeli attack that took place this weekend left a deep sorrow in the world of sports. Three Iranian taekwondo athletes reportedly died.
Since Saturday, June 14, the conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated. The two countries retaliated against each other after Iran made Tel Aviv the center of attack while Israel continued to bombard Tehran.
As a result of this attack, reported by a CNN report by the Iranian Taekwondo Federation, three of its members were killed, including a teenager. Among those killed were Amir Ali Amini, taekwondoin of the junior team, Mir Ali Amini of the youth team, and Hojatoleslam Ahmadpour who were the federation administrators.
Not only that, but Iranwire reported that the horse champion was also a victim of an Israeli attack. Mehdi Pouladvand, an equestrian champion from Alborz province, died alongside his father, mother, and sister in Israeli airstrikes.
Pouladvand was one of the first young horse riders to join Iran's senior equestrian training camp when they were still competing in the youth category.

According to information from the Iranian Equestrian Federation, Pouladvand won his first gold medal and championship in an obstacle jump competition. He then won at the national level in the senior category 'small rules'.
