Torino Vs Parma 1-0: Il Toro Sends Gialloblu To Serie B

JAKARTA - Torino sent Parma relegated to Serie B after winning by a narrow score of 1-0 in Week 34 of the Italian League at the Stadio Olimpico Grande, Monday local time (Tuesday, western Indonesia time).

This result made Parma, who is in the 19th position, fail to add to the 20 points they have.

With the season remaining four games to go, Parma can only reach a maximum total point of 32 points, equivalent to Cagliari who is in 17th position.

But the two teams' head-to-head records will force Parma to be below Cagliari if they end on the same points at the end of the season.

Parma became the second team to be relegated, after the determining team Crotone, which was defeated by Inter Milan on Saturday, May 1 yesterday.

Despite a relatively good start, Parma's first chance in the third minute failed to be completed by Alberto Grassi, whose header went off the mark.

After many of Parma's chances were wasted, Torino came close to taking the lead in the 24th minute if Cristian Ansaldi's left-footed shot had not hit the crossbar.

The first half round ended empty and in the 63rd minute, Mergim Vojvoda finally broke the deadlock with a close-range flick completing Ansaldi's pass to put Torino in the lead.

The advantage was almost doubled by Andrea Belotti in the 74th minute, unfortunately, Andrea Belotti's shot from the middle of the penalty box still hit the post.

In the first minute of injury time, Parma's hopes of keeping a chance in Serie A were dashed when Giuseppe Pezzella fired a shot too high from the left side of the penalty box.

For Torino, the victory this time made them move up to 15th with 34 points and increased the safety distance from the red zone to three points, Antara reported according to the official Italian League website.

In the following matches, the two teams will play on Sunday, 9 May, when Parma hosts Atalanta at Ennio Tardini and Torino visits Marc'Antonio Bentegodi against Verona.
