Defeat The Host, Bintang/Sofyan Tembus Quarter-finals Beach Pro Tour Qingdao 2025
JAKARTA - Representative of Indonesian beach volleyball, Bintang Akbar/Sofyan Rachman managed to break into the quarter-finals of the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Futures Qingdao 2025 in China. They managed to break down the resistance of the host pair, Wu Jiaxin/Ch. W Zhou in the playoffs phase.
Citing ANTARA's report on Saturday, June 14, the Indonesian mainstay pair won the straight set 2-0 (21-17, 21-18).
Since the beginning of the match, the couple immediately played aggressively to score points. However, the home team did not remain silent, so the chase for scores often occurred in the two sets.
Previously, in the group stage match which took place on Friday (13/6), Bintang/Sofyan played two matches on the same day.
During the first match, they lost to host pair Peng Gao/Yang Li with a score of 0-2 (14-21, 19-21) in 29 minutes.
However, the Red and White representatives came back in the second match by defeating the Australian pair Ben Hood/Oliver Merritt, through the straight set 2-0 (21-13, 25-23), in a 36-minute match.
These results brought Bintang/Sofyan to the playoffs, which brought together the 12 best teams from the group stage, each consisting of the top three rankings of each pool.
After winning in that round, the pair will meet XW.Deng/Cao Deyu in the quarter-final match, on Saturday or today, at 15.30 WIB.

In the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Futures Qingdao 2025 in China, Indonesia has two representatives, namely Bintang/Sofyan and Yosi Firnanda/Danangsyah Pribadi.
However, the last pair had to be eliminated after occupying the caretaker position of pool A.
They lost two group stage matches, after fighting the British pair Issa Batrane/Fredrick Bialokoz with a score of 0-2 (19-21, 18-21), and met with representatives from Brazil Vilsomar Brito/Manaus Costa, with a score of 1-2 (21-18, 15-21, 8-15).
Beach Pro Tour Futures Qingdao 2025 is a series of preparations for the beach volleyball team to face the 2025 Thailand SEA Games, in December.
