Tightening Supervision, 6,633 Hectares Of Wildlife Sanctuarys Seized By The Banyuasin Kejari

The Special Criminal Team of the Banyuasin District Attorney's Office, South Sumatra, has taken over an area of 6,633 hectares which is an area of wildlife asylum. Previously, the land was controlled by a number of entrepreneurs and irresponsible communities.

Kasi Pidsus Kejari Banyuasin Giovani was confirmed from Palembang, Saturday, saying that through coordination with the Special Committee Team of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia, which is part of the forest area control task force, it saved 6,633 hectares of land for wildlife asylum from the control of unscrupulous businessmen and naughty communities.

"The thousands of hectares of land has now been posted an announcement banner in the government's supervision of the forest area control task force," he quoted ANTARA as saying on Saturday, June 14.

The banner reads "The Bentayan Wildlife Sanctuary area of 6,633.44 hectares is under the control of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia cq. Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH)".

The control, said Giovani, is in accordance with Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2025 concerning Control of Forest Areas.

"There is a prohibition on trading and controlling without the permit of the forest area control task force," he said.

Giovani said that this rescue was through a strict legal process to protect areas that had high ecological value from threats of addedness and environmental damage.

By saving this land, he hopes that the existence of wildlife asylum can be maintained and the ecosystem is sustainable.

The Pidsus Kejari Banyuasin team continues to be committed to protecting the environment and natural resources in its territory.

"Saving land for wildlife asylum is an important step in preserving the environment in the Banyuasin area," he said.

He hopes that this land rescue can also provide long-term benefits for the surrounding community and the environment, as well as maintain the balance of the ecosystem in the area.
