The Chairperson Of The KPK Ensures That Corruption Cases In The Previous Period Were Resolved

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto confirmed that the arrears in cases from the leadership of the previous period were resolved. His party is making an inventory and determining priorities.

"We are indeed trying to accelerate. That's why, now we are trying to tidy up for the old carry-over cases," Setyo told reporters quoted on Saturday, June 14.

Even so, Setyo said that the follow-up to old cases could not be done arbitrarily. "Everything is waiting for time," he said.

Then there is a priority scale in efforts to handle allegations of corruption. So, all parties who must be responsible before the law are actually just waiting for time.

"It can't be simultaneously, because there are also cases that are being handled. Then there are things that need to be prioritized," he said.

"But surely the time will come for forced activities to be carried out," concluded the former Director of Investigation of the KPK.
