Age Is Not An Obstacle, The Rolling Stones Are Reportedly Ready To Release A New Album

JAKARTA - Age doesn't seem to be an obstacle to continue working for The Rolling Stones, who are reportedly working on a new album to continue their extraordinary musical journey.

As is known, Stones released their 24th studio album, 'Hackney Diamonds' in 2023, followed by 20 major performances in North America that generated $235 million' making it the sixth best-selling world tour of 2024.

Earlier this year, rumors emerged that the Stones had canceled plans to tour the UK and Europe due to scheduling issues. However, the personnel seem to be using that time to return to the recording studio.

According to a report from The Sun, The Rolling Stones which is currently fronted by Mick Jagger (vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), losty Wood (guitar), and Steve Jordan (drums) have been working together on a follow-up to 'Hackney Diamonds' since April.

They already have 13 songs worked on at Metropolis Studios, West London, and are said to be in talks with labels regarding the release date for the new album.

"Initially, the plan was for them to hold a big tour to the UK and Europe this summer, but the promoter could not set the date," a source told the UK-based publication.

"Instead, the Stones decided to return to the studio and release their next album. This album means a lot to their fans who don't have the opportunity to watch them live this year," he continued.

The report states that well-known producer Andrew Watt, who produced and co-wrote three songs on "Hackney Diamonds", is again involved for the upcoming album.

Until this article was written, there has been no official statement from the Stones. However, the personnel have expressed interest in releasing more music.

Ahead of the release of 'Hackney Diamonds', Jagger told The New York Times that he would not consider it the last Rolling Stones album, as its members have worked on the next three-quarters of the album.

In November 2023, Richards also conveyed the same thing to SiriusXM, saying: "There's still a lot left. There will always be other (albums) until we release them... This is what we do. We have to see these Rolling Stones to the end."
