Turkish Club Galatasaray Officially Introduces Leroy Sane Transfer

JAKARTA - Turkish League Club Galatasaray officially announced the recruitment of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich on a free transfer.

Sane signed a three-year contract until 2028. An official announcement from Galatasaray stated that the German winger would receive a salary of 9 million euros (around Rp169 billion) per season plus bonuses.

The 29-year-old expressed his joy and could not wait to feel the atmosphere playing in front of Galatasaray supporters.

"I am very grateful for the welcome from the fans. The atmosphere here is amazing, and I can't wait to play in front of them," said Saned, quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Friday.

Leroy Sane has made a number of extraordinary achievements throughout his career. With Bayern, Sane won four Bundesliga titles and featured in 220 games, scoring 61 goals and 55assist. In the 2024/25 season, he contributed with 13 goals and 6 assists, helping Bayern win the Bundesliga title despite Sane losing his main spot under coach Vincent Kompany.

He was also included in the Manchester City squad in 2016 2020. This English league club, Sane won two league titles (2018), one FA Cup, two English League Cups, and two Community Shield.

On the international stage, he has collected 70 appearances for the German national team and shows his quality on the international stage.

The transfer also shows Galatasaray's ambition to compete in the Champions League, where they will appear in the league phase next season after winning the 2024/25 Super League.

With Sane's presence, Galatasaray now has new powers in attack to face challenges in domestic and European competitions.
