United States And Russia Negotiations Next To Be Held In Moscow

JAKARTA - Negotiations between the United States and Russia to resolve issues in their bilateral relations will be moved from Istanbul to Moscow, Russia's new ambassador to the United States said.

"The recovery of Russia-American relations is still far away," Ambassador Alexander Darchiev told TASS.

The restoration of relations with Moscow has been slowed down by the so-called "insider states" of the US and anti-Russian "angs" in Congress, Ambassador Darchiev continued.

"I can confirm that the next delegation negotiations will take place in the near future in Moscow," Ambassador Darchiev said.

The war in Ukraine has sparked the biggest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the Cold War.

Senior diplomats in Moscow and Washington told Reuters by 2024 they could not recall ever worse relationships.

The administration of US President Donald Trump described the Ukraine conflict as a proxy war between the United States and Russia. President Trump himself has repeatedly warned of the risk of escalation of this conflict becoming a world war.

Previously, the delegation of Russia and the United States was known to have held a number of meetings since February this year, both in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Istanbul, Turkey.
