JAKARTA - The joint team continues to make efforts to overcome forest and land fires or karhutla that occurred on the road to Singkawang Airport, Sedau Village, South Singkawang District, West Kalimantan (Kalbar).
"This karhutla has occurred since Monday (June 9) at around 15.30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). This incident was reported by the MPA of Sedau Village," said Head of operational region (Daops) Manggala Agni Kalimantan IX/Singkawang, Yuyu Wahyudin in his statement in Singkawang, Wednesday, June 11, quoted by Antara.
Until now, Wednesday, June 11, the extinguishing of the karhutla on the route to Singkawang Airport by a joint team consisting of Manggala Agni, BPBD, sub-districts, villages, as well as the TNI and Polri is still ongoing.
Efforts to extinguish the fire, he continued, continue to be carried out together to localize the fire so that it does not spread.
Yuyu said that, until now, the area of land that has been burned is estimated to be approximately 3.4 hectares. However, what has been able to or has been extinguished until today is only 1.3 hectares.
