Rayen Pono Calls Keenan Nasution And Vidi Aldiano Both Victims From Copyright Chaos
JAKARTA - Rayen Pono also responded to a dispute between Keenan Nasution and Vidi Aldiano, where the two were currently litigating at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court regarding permission to perform the song Nuansa Bening.
Based on information obtained by Rayen, the dispute between Keenan and Vidi did not enter the realm of performing rights as in the lawsuit but the problem of mechanical rights.
"I got a lot of information, I've seen something odd," Rayen told the media crew in Kemang, Central Jakarta, Monday, June 10.
"From the narrative that was built, then the evidence revealed, this is actually more relevant if the one being sued is actually mechanical rights, not performing rights," added the former Pasto personnel.
Rayen increasingly doubts with Keenan's intention to sue Vidi because of the existence of his attorney, Minola Sebayang, a lawyer for Ari Bias when suing Agnez Mo, who is also active in the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI).
"This is what I can't believe, because it is affiliated with one of the associations, ACTION, which we both know that ACTION has stated that the enemy is a singer, that the singer is a bad person who doesn't want to pay royalties," said Rayen.
"And they sued the singer, the singer had to pay royalties, while people said that the organizer had to pay. So, this is chaotic," he added.

On the basis of his argument, Rayen believed that Vidi was a victim, similar to Keenan, who was also a victim of ACTION.
"And finally, this is what I have to say... Om Keenan also made me a victim, who was indoctrined and used as a locomotive for the benefit of certain groups," he said.
According to him, what must be targeted in copyright matters, especially royalties, is the Collective Management Institute (LMK).
"So that everything is back on track, what we are hitting is the LMK, what we are screaming at is the LMK. LMK is the power holder. From me, the songwriter, gave power of attorney to LMK," concluded Rayen Pono.
