Police Detain Deputy Head Of Cilegon Chamber Of Commerce And Industry And Head Of NGO New Suspect For Project Extortion

SERANG - The Banten Police Ditreskrimum again detained two suspects in the case of extorting the Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA) factory construction project amounting to Rp5 trillion involving the Cilegon City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and several mass organizations.

Head of Sub-Directorate I of State Security of the Banten Police, Kompol Endang Sugiarto, explained that the two suspects detained were Zul Basit (44) as Chair of the Banten Monitoring Industry and Trade Organization (BMPP) and Isbatullah Alibasja (43) as Deputy Chairperson of the Cilegon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"Yes, the suspects have been named, the two of them," said Endang as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 9.

The Rp5 trillion project extortion case carried out by Kadin Cilegon and several mass organizations will be carried out further investigations.

"For Kadin, our process is in stage one with the prosecutor's office. We are still working hard to make an examination," he said.

He also added that there would be surprises in this case.

"There will be surprises. It will be delivered later," he said.

Regarding the involvement of members of the Resort Police, he confirmed that three members of the Resort Police were being investigated. However, this is related to the extortion case, not related to his involvement.

"There are members of the Resort Police. Oh, yes. So if we explain, there are three members of the Resort Police, namely KC Yanmin, Ditintel Banten Police, Head of Intel Cilegon Police, and Head of Intel Ciwandan Police," he said.

According to him, the purpose of the examination was to ensure the activities carried out by Kadin without permission.

"So the provider ensures that the activities carried out by Kadin are without permission or illegal. Because there is no notification in a written letter. Neither to the officer," he said.

Previously, the police named three people as suspects, namely Muhammad Salim (Chairman of Cilegon Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Ismatullah (Head of Cilegon City Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Rufaji Jahuri (Chairman of HNSI).
