KAI Records Peak Occupancy In Backflow Of Capai Long Holidays 115 Percent

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded an occupancy or temporary occupancy rate on the backflow of the Eid al-Adha 2025 long holiday and a joint leave of 115 percent of the prepared capacity of 171,261 seats.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said there was a significant increase in the volume of train customers as of June 9, 2025, which was the peak of the backflow for the Eid al-Adha long holiday period and collective leave.

"As of 10.15 WIB, 197,183 tickets were recorded or 115 percent of the available capacity of 171,261 seats," Anne said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 9.

He said the number would continue to increase because ticket sales will continue until 24.00 WIB tonight.

He detailed that the cumulative volume of ticket sales during the period 5'9 June 2025 had reached 931,119 tickets, exceeding the capacity provided as many as 850,795 seats, or the equivalent of 109 percent.

Of this total, the Long Distance Train (KA JJ) recorded 794,619 customers (112 percent of the 710,284 capacity), while the Local Train served 136,500 customers (97 percent of the capacity 140,511).

According to him, the high number of passengers arriving in Jakarta is also reflected in the temporary arrival data. Based on orders as of June 8 evening, 15,031 customers are scheduled to arrive at Pasarsenen Station and 14,825 customers at Gambir Station today, Monday (9/6).

Anne conveyed that this achievement emphasized the strategic role of trains as a reliable mode of public transportation, especially in supporting the mass movement of people at national holiday moments.

KAI recorded 10 stations with the highest volume of customer departures during the period 59 June 2025 covering Pasarsenen Station 143,125 customers; Gambir Station 72,442 customers; Surabaya Pasarturi Station 53,465 customers; Solo Balapan Station 46,079 customers; and Surabaya Gubeng Station 45,876 customers.

Furthermore, Ketapang Station 45,561 customers; Semarang Tawang Station Bank Jateng 41,862 customers; Bandung Station 38,335 customers; Malang Station 38,310 customers; to Purwokerto Station 32,803 customers

"This long holiday momentum proves again that trains are the main choice of cross-regional society. In addition to being efficient and comfortable, KAI services also support the tourism sector and local economy in various regions," said Anne.

As a form of appreciation to customers, KAI presents a 30 percent discount program for non-subsidized economic train travel (NON PSO) which is valid until July 31, 2025. This discount covers more than 100 trips and can be accessed through the Access by KAI application and the official booking.kai.id website.
