Government Asked To Issue Buzzer Business Regulations

JAKARTA Cybersecurity expert Alfons Tanujaya asked the government to immediately intervene by issuing regulations governing the business of buying and selling buzzer services to prevent widespread manipulation of public opinion.

Recently, the business of buying and selling buzzer services has no longer been done secretly.

On various social media platforms, the business people are now openly promoting their wares in various marketplaces.

In fact, some have official websites to buy buzzer break-ups.

The types of services offered vary. In addition to comments and likes, they also serve trending topics packages on social media, add followers, to take down Youtube videos.

There are also those who offer packages to manage social media and fan page designs. Not only promoting company brands and various types of products, the buzzer service business has also penetrated politics.

In principle, the buzzer business is manipulative. So, this fakes as an identity on social media. Then, achieve certain goals with this false identity. The goal is all kinds of things," said Alfons, Sunday, June 8.

He gave an example, political buzzer services that are often used to attack certain figures or defend the interests of political clients.

buzzer accounts for the political world are usually fake accounts that were deliberately created to viralize a message or narrative.

"The goal is to influence the public as if many accounts are voicing something. In fact, it's just some people with the capital of many devices and accounts or some who fake the review," he said.

Therefore, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) must try to prevent the buzzer business from getting more brutal.

This is because the issue narrated by buzzers has the potential to be trusted by the public even though the truth is still being questioned.

"So this is not healthy. If you give fake reviews, people's trust in the review will fall. Then, what if the buzzer attacks people with the intention of imposing dignity or career. Obviously this is also not true. In fact, in politics, this can cause chaos. Therefore, it must be identified and regulated, "explained Alfons.

According to him, as an anticipatory measure, the Ministry of Komdigi needs to limit or verify social media accounts to prevent many fake children's accounts.

Currently, one person can still create hundreds of accounts.

Buat satu orang hanya satu akun.
