Indonesian Crypto Investor Tembus 14 Million, Tokocrypto Emphasizes The Need For An Increase In Literacy
JAKARTA - The latest data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) states that until April 2025, the number of crypto asset users in Indonesia reached 14.16 million people, up from 13.71 million in March.
In addition, the value of crypto transactions also jumped, from IDR 32.45 trillion in March to IDR 35.61 trillion in April 2025. Currently, there are 1.444 crypto assets registered with the OJK.
Seeing this trend, Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana emphasized the importance of balancing the increase in investor numbers with an adequate understanding of crypto assets themselves, to ensure investors can make informative decisions and mitigate risks.
Because according to him, the lack of crypto literacy has the potential to increase risks, especially for novice investors. He also added that education is an important foundation for the sustainability of the crypto industry in Indonesia, especially if you want to use blockchain technology for the advancement of the digital economy.
"If we want crypto to be part of a healthy and sustainable national financial system, literacy must be a priority. We believe that inclusion without literacy will only increase risk," Calvin said in his statement.
Therefore, to increase national crypto literacy, Calvin emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector, government, and educational institutions in building a strong crypto education ecosystem.

"Building a strong crypto educational ecosystem requires close collaboration between the private sector, government, and educational institutions. By synergizing, various parties can jointly develop relevant and accessible training programs," he said.
According to Calvin, several countries in the world have even taken proactive steps to increase crypto literacy through various educational initiatives that should be a reference for Indonesia.
"Singapore, for example, through leading universities such as the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), offers comprehensive courses related to blockchain and crypto," Calvin explained.
Therefore, Tokocrypto is committed to continuing to strengthen public literacy, to ensure that this growth is accompanied by a deep understanding of digital assets.
