Pramono Focuses Block M On Becoming A Transportation Integration Center, Here's The Reason

JAKARTA - Blok M is now the center of attention for DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in developing the integration of public transportation services.

Many Transjabodetabek routes that have recently been launched place Blok M as a stopping point for the penyanggaga area.

Among them include the Transjabodetabek route Blok M-Alam Sutera (S61) which was inaugurated on April 24, Blok M-PIK 2 (T31) which officially operates on May 22, and Blok M-Bogor (P11) which officially launched on June 5.

In addition, Pramono has also inaugurated the M Hub Block to integrate public transportation facilities with commercial and culinary areas, to organize pedestrian lines in the Blok M area.

"Why is the hub in Blok M? Because we are indeed preparing Blok M, we will fix it as a new hub because it is easy to go to Blok M anywhere," Pramono said, quoted on Friday, June 6.

According to Pramono, Blok M is a strategic area in the use of public transportation because community visits to the area are increasing.

In fact, Pramono claims that the Transjabodetabek route from Blok M is filled with users of public transportation services.

"Unexpectedly, for example Alam Sutera-Blok M, PIK 2 Blok M, the increase is extraordinary, almost double what we expected," explained Pramono.

On the one hand, Pramono also wants to make the Blok M area the capital city of ASEAN. Given, the ASEAN Secretariat Office is located in the area.

"The Block M area is expected to become a new face for Jakarta that realizes the spirit of a global city, by displaying the richness of superior culture and products from ASEAN countries," he explained.

To increase community visits, Pramono will also open three parks around the Blok M area for 24 hours, namely Ayodya Park, Langsat Park, and Leuser Park.
